How do I reset my password?

If you forget your password, click on the ‘Forgot Password’ link in the sign-in screen. This will direct you to a password reset page where you will get an email from Sweep about resetting your password.

How do I list my car and how much does it cost?

In the menu bar there is a button ‘Sell Your Own’. The process is very straightforward. Add your registration and Sweep will automatically pull in all of the vehicle information, all you have to do is enter the price, mileage, any written description you want to add and pay. The cost to sell your vehicle is €3 which includes a basic car history check.

Do I need to setup an account?

No – you can browse the app and vehicles without setting up an account. If you want to message / call a dealer or private seller or list your own vehicle for sale then you need to setup an account. This process is very straightforward and can be done with your social logins or email.

What is a basic car history check?

When a vehicle is listed on Sweep we will run the registration through our partner CarHistoryCheck’s database. If it shows that this car has ever been written-off or stolen then Sweep will not list the vehicle on the App.

I swiped left on a car by mistake, can I get it back?

Yes. Just click on the undo button to the left of the thumb’s down button on the main screen.

I swiped right on a car I actually don't like, can I delete it?

Yes. Go into your favourites and click on the bin button, this will allow you to select the cars you want to delete.

Does a dealer / seller get my contact details if I message them through the app?

No. Not unless you give the dealer your email address and phone number. We encourage you to do all communication through the app.

Does a dealer / seller get my contact details if I call them through the app?

Yes. The seller will get your phone number.

How do I create a list?

Creating lists is easy on the app. In your favourites, there is a list button on top. Click on this and click the + button. A prompt will ask you to name your list and you can then add vehicles from your favourites to this list.

Can I filter by multiple makes / models?

Yes. In the filter you can select multiple models by clicking on the ones that you want to see.

I want to start over and see every car again, what do I need to do?

Click on the menu button on the top left of the main screen and click on ‘Reset Swipe History’. This will restore every vehicle on the app back to view (even the ones that you have originally swiped left on). You will keep your favourites, these can be deleted in the favourites section of the app.

What should I do if a dealer doesn't reply?

If you don’t hear back from a dealer, we suggest you send a follow up message asking for a response. If they don’t reply then, it might be best to try giving them a call through the app.

Should I buy from a private seller or a dealer?

Either. There are some advantages and disadvadvantages to both. With a dealer you get reassurance that the car has been history checked and you have some sort of guarantee on the vehicle (it varies per dealer but could be anywhere from three months to three years). With a private seller you don’t have this, however, the price you will pay for the vehicle reflects this. If you are considering buying off a non-SIMI dealer or a private seller make sure you buy a Car History Check to ensure that the vehicle that you are buying doesn”t have any previous history (outstanding finance, written off, stolen etc).

What is a car history check?

A car history check is a full report showing the history of the vehicle. You can never tell a vehicle’s past by just looking at it. Sweep have partnered with CarHistoryCheck, powered by Experian, to provide a car history check offering. This history check provides the potential buyer of the vehicle with vital information about the history of the vehicle to ensure it matches up with that you are being told you are buying. A car history check provides peace of mind for buyers and allows you to make a more informed decision. A full car history check shows any outstanding finance/loans, if it was ever reported as stolen, ever written off, any mileage discrepancies, number of previous owners, if it was ever reported scrapped and over 50 other bits of useful information.

When should I look at buying a car history check?

If you have your heart set on a certain vehicle (or a couple and don’t know which to choose) then this is the time to buy a car history check. If buying from a dealer or private seller then you should look to buy one to put yourself at ease that the car has no outstanding finance on it or hasn’t been involved in any insurance claims.

Do you have electric vehicles? If so, how do I look at them?

Yes. Filter your ‘Fuel’ type in the ‘Advanced Filter’ search by ‘Electric’. If you want to search for a Hybrid vehicle simply filter by ‘Hybrid’ within ‘Fuel Type’.

What are the benefits of buying an electric vehicle?
